Whether you are hosting a backyard barbecue or just need a midday pick-me-up, this watermelon mint cooler mocktail is your new go-to summer drink.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups watermelon, cubed
  • 1 cup sparkling water
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint sprigs, for garnish

A note on watermelon: Choose a watermelon that feels heavy for its size, has a uniform shape, and sounds hollow when tapped. Look for a yellowish field spot on the outside, which indicates ripeness.

Directions

  1. In a blender, add the cubed watermelon and blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the watermelon puree through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove any pulp.
  3. Stir the fresh lime juice and mint leaves into the watermelon juice until combined.
  4. Fill glasses with ice cubes, then pour the watermelon and mint mixture over the top.
  5. Top each glass with sparkling water and garnish with mint sprigs.
  6. Serve immediately for the best fizz and freshness.
