Here is how a recent Quality Stoves & Spas custom fireplace came together — from a bare wall to a finished centerpiece, all handled by one team.

Step 1 · The Blank Canvas

Every build starts here — a bare wall and a plan. We confirm the design, take measurements, and map out the framing, gas, and electrical before any construction begins.

Step 2 · Framing, Firebox & Venting

Next, our team frames the new fireplace structure, sets the firebox, and runs the venting, gas, and electrical. This is where the shape of your fireplace takes form — built to code and sized precisely for your wall, your hearth height, and the mantel to come.

Step 3 · Backer Board, Mantel & First Burn

Next, we install the backer board that the stone will attach to and set the solid wood mantel. Then comes the first burn — we test the fireplace to confirm it lights, vents, and runs perfectly before any finish materials go on. It is the safe, do-it-right step that saves headaches later.

Step 4 · Natural Stone Veneer

Then the transformation really shows. Our masons hand-place natural stone veneer piece by piece, wrapping the firebox and hearth. Every stone is fitted individually for a timeless, custom look that feels like it has always belonged in the room.

Step 5 · The Finished Fireplace

Finally, with the mantel stained and the fire lit, the build is complete — a finished stone fireplace that transforms the entire room.
